YONKERS, N.Y. -- John E. Day, lifelong resident of Yonkers, died at his residence on Dec. 28. He was 82.
Day was a graduate of Saunders High School, US Army Paratrooper Veteran and worked his entire career as a plant manager for Durall Tool in Yonkers.
He is predeceased by his brother Stephen Day.
Day is survived by his children John, Patricia and Thomas; grandchildren Caitlyn Day and Christopher Castaldo; sister Rosalie Flynn; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday at the Flynn Memorial Home, on Central Park Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Christ the King Church. Interment will follow at Saint Joseph's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
